Installation Guide

  1. 1

    Download AirDroid Cast

Visit the Download page and select the installer for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, or TV. Verify SHA-256 when hashes are published.

  2. 2

    Install on both devices

Install the receiver on your computer or TV and the sender app on your phone or tablet. Grant network access when prompted.

  3. 3

    Sign in (optional)

Free accounts sign in on one device. Premium yearly plans allow the same account on up to three devices simultaneously for remote mirroring features.

Connect Two Devices

Download AirDroid Cast on your computer

Step 1: Download

Visit the Download page and install AirDroid Cast on the receiving computer or TV.

Scan the QR code on your computer with your phone

Step 2: Connect

Open the app on your phone, scan the QR code on the receiver screen, or enter the 9-digit cast code to pair.

Step 3: Cast

Accept the connection prompt and start mirroring. Audio shares automatically when supported on your devices.

Different WiFi networks

Local casting works on the same WiFi or LAN. For devices on different networks, upgrade to premium and enable remote screen mirroring. Free accounts cannot use remote network mirroring.

USB Casting Setup

USB connection is for casting mobile devices to computers. It can improve stability and enables Android screen-off casting.

  1. Install mobile drivers if Windows requests them for your phone model.
  2. Enable USB debugging on Android when required and trust the computer.
  3. For iOS, unlock the device and tap Trust This Computer when prompted.
  4. Select USB mode in AirDroid Cast on both sides and wait for optimization to complete.

Recent version 3.8.0.4 improves iOS USB screencast success rate. If USB fails, switch to wireless QR pairing as a fallback.

Cast to Android TV

  1. Install AirDroid Cast TV from the Download page on your Android TV (Android 5.0+).
  2. Ensure TV and phone are on the same wireless network.
  3. Launch the TV app and display the cast code.
  4. On your phone, open AirDroid Cast and connect using the code or QR scan.

Supported brands include Sony, Hisense, TCL, Skyworth, and Philips smart TVs running Android TV.

Remote Control from PC

Full touch control from Windows or Mac requires a premium upgrade. Free tier provides basic mirroring. Remote control needs Windows 10 build 1803 or newer on the PC receiver.

  • Keep the phone screen on during free mirroring sessions when control depends on live display.
  • Use mouse click, scroll, and keyboard input on the desktop to operate mobile apps.
  • AirDroid Cast Web in browser does not support phone control; use the desktop client instead.

Antivirus Warnings Explained

Heuristic engines may flag screen capture and input injection as suspicious. This is common for mirroring tools and remote support software.

Recommended response

  1. Download only from official installers on the Download page after you add verified URLs.
  2. Validate SHA-256 checksum before running the setup file.
  3. Check digital signature publisher name on Windows and macOS.
  4. Report false positives to your antivirus vendor with the hash and version number.

Independent security scans have reported clean results for official AirDroid Cast builds. Avoid cracked or repackaged copies from unknown sources.

Common Problems & Solutions

Connection fails on same WiFi

Disable AP isolation on your router, allow local network access in firewall settings, and ensure both devices use the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band consistently.

Lag or stutter during cast

Move closer to the router, close background apps on the phone, reduce mirrored resolution if settings allow, or switch from wireless to USB for stability.

No audio on receiver

Confirm in-device sound sharing is enabled in cast settings. Restart both apps and reconnect the session.

Cannot cast to more than one device

Multi-screen mode supports up to five senders to one PC on the same network. Verify all devices share that LAN and use compatible app versions.

Remote network unavailable on free plan

Upgrade to premium for remote screen mirroring across different internet connections. See FAQ for account limits.

Best Practices

  • Obtain consent before mirroring another person's device
  • Use wired USB for long presentations to save battery
  • Label devices in cast history notes for faster reconnects
  • Keep apps updated to 3.8.0.4 or newer for browser cast support
